To help answer the burning question of whether ARM gaming handhelds can replace your Steam Deck or other gaming handhelds, I immediately installed Linux and Steam on my Ayn Thor Andoird-based handheld as soon as it arrived!
While Valve hasn’t released their SteamOS for ARM yet, I am using a very lightweight Linux distro ROCKNIX that for all intents and purposes is the same experience SteamOS will be.
I share a really cool 3D printed case in the likeness of the original Nintendo as well as my thoughts on ARM-based SteamOS and it’s role in the future of gaming handhelds.
